“How was Apple’s event today?”
Unimpressive.
Essentially: “we finally did this AI thing (that would have been impressive a couple years ago) and it’s going to work really well.”
There wasn’t any unique innovation or groundbreaking feature.
And for an Apple event, that’s disappointing.
@scottbuscemi@rjonesy There’s only a few sites I’ve found that can saturate full 5 gig upload…one is @Frame_io. It’s incredible! I can upload hundreds of gigs to my video editors in minutes.
One thing I love about Apple Pay on websites is being able to quickly see shipping costs without having to enter address/info into a store's checkout page.
For a typical notification, we’ve been taught to swipe it up, but for Live Activity banners, it opens the app up.
After a few times of swiping it up, it eventually minimizes, but there doesn’t seem to be consistent behavior.
In iOS 18.1, the interface for playing back recorded calls is great — you can tap on any word to start jump to that part of the recording.
I hope they bring this same interface and transcription quality to voicemails.
When Apple introduced the first iPhone,
they reinvented voicemail with visual voicemail.
I wish they’d kept improving it.
The transcriptions are wildly inaccurate.
Playing back voicemails is so clunky, and scrubbing doesn’t work.
@rjonesy@Flighty I’ve been a longtime App in the Air user and had paid for lifetime access. I am using Flighty for the first time and loving it — great work! Having been burned by lifetime once before…should I be concerned? Will all features always be supported under that?
Blown away by @descript's AI Underlord update launched yesterday. The tools that their team continues to add, improving and speeding up the workflows for people working with audio and video content is incredible! https://t.co/dz2UZ97WiN (Affiliate Link)
@focuspulling@Frame_io@Adobe@emerywells I agree. Doesn't even need to be Premiere's transcripts. AI/Cloud generated transcripts are everywhere now.

@emerywells Phenomenal updates! Hats off to the whole team! Was surprised that automated transcripts/captions wasn't included in this update...seems like a natural next step for improved search/metadata. Would make leaving comments much faster, rather than scrubbing to find a specific line.
