I think anybody who's a good manager has mentorship DNA within them.
I think way too many people, when they become a manager, think people are working for them .. and I think when people are mentors, they understand that they're working for the other person.
@lkr I have compassion for their real estate investing experience; given their choices, success was unlikely. I’m not advocating that RE > Index funds. Each has its place in a balanced portfolio.
Highly specialized SAAS companies won’t be catastrophically impacted by AI for some time (in fact, many will be helped by AI)- and $CRM is proving that thesis accurate.
I’m curious about the true impact of Data Center bans / controls by TX and PA … there are so many other options. Other states, Tribal lands, neighboring countries. Even the US Fed Gvmt already leases public lands to data centers.
@JohnPalminteri This is tragic. We need to implement new policy that reduces the speed limit on thoroughfares (for a reason period of time) when wildlife / endangered animals are spotted in the vicinity. These would be special enforcement areas carrying enhanced fines.
I’m always surprised when companies just “show up” at industry events. The difference between attending events vs “working an event” is substantial. Executed correctly, events can be a significant profit center.
With wide availability and extremely low barriers to entry, public libraries in the US have some of the largest membership bases per capita. They are effectively large subscription-based short term rental companies (offering books, e-bikes, event tickets, 3D printing, & more).
Some say “pay yourself first”. I believe in paying vendors first, then myself. Strong vendor relationships will help you accelerate in good times, and bad. This is worth far more than the short term float you gain by slow paying.
Just like with consumer lending, business lenders look for a recent, consistent pattern of borrowing and repayment. Timely repayment shows your business can be trusted. You don’t need to go overboard, but it is good to flex your business credit just a bit on a regular basis.
Acquiring new customers typically costs more than retaining existing ones (estimates suggest 5 to 25 times higher). Utilizing data for customer retention can increase profits and support a more sustainable business model.
