@p_f_lees@angryaboutbikes None of the cases are entirely equal-I’m talking about the response “he’s one bad apple” (he wasn’t, see the WhatsApp) “she could have rung 999 to check his ID” (which was an actual warrant card) and arresting women protesting (who weren’t rioting)
@JackWFC1234@DavidVance They may have asked to meet with him. They may want the assistance of a human rights lawyer in exploring the police response under Article 2 of the Human Rights Act.
If men had IUD insertion it would be illegal or at least come with a mandatory week in hospital. If men had endometriosis they’d have cured it years ago. If men menstruated they’d have invented a vaccine and it would be fruit flavoured tongue strips
I’will never get tired of reminding you that if men were the ones with a uterus, pads and tampons would be free. If men could get pregnant, you’d be able to get the abortion pill OTC, and there would be zero abortion restrictions.
@neoconpapi@Plangentfall@angryaboutbikes Let’s agree Duggan was a criminal and should have been arrested and tried. The issue is why he was shot when not holding a weapon and why police attempted to misinform about the incident.
@neoconpapi@Plangentfall@angryaboutbikes There is significant evidence that Couzens should have been arrested and thrown out of the force prior to her murder but his actions were tolerated if not openly excused
@neoconpapi@Plangentfall@angryaboutbikes And to say he was “one bad apple”, suggest she should have rung 999 to verify his identity (when he showed her a legitimate warrant card) and arrest women protesting. The issue in all cases is the response when someone dies in a situation involving the police.
@Plangentfall@angryaboutbikes I certainly agreed that rioting in response wasn’t appropriate at the time especially whilst an active investigation was taking place.
The level of ignorance amongst MP's about disability whether physical or mental is absolutely shocking and inexcusable. Yet these are the people who by passing laws and cutting benefits are affecting every aspect of our lives.
@Plangentfall@angryaboutbikes It’s right that there are no comparisons between Nowak and Duggan as Nowak had not committed a crime-I’m talking solely about police response to their liability in preventable deaths
@Plangentfall@angryaboutbikes Clearly there are cases where force and even killing are entirely proportionate-Lee Rigby’s killers were shot to bring them in and thus deprived of their hope to be killed and martyred which was absolutely justified in that situation
@francesdidnot@roryscahell@WrasslinRyan@Bushra1Shaikh@CharlieHowarth1 Regardless of whether his injuries were survivable the officers failed in their duty to assess the situation and provide appropriate assistance. But this is a common phenomenon which has been happening in the police force for years and predated DEI or “woke”
@ShonaB22@TonyB_1997@HallJacque33709 This is very similar to what happened in the Lawrence case-his friend called for help and police were sent but no ambulance. Same shades of presupposing what was happening.
@Plangentfall@angryaboutbikes Luckily Henry Nowak won’t fall prey to having his character maligned after his death by the people who failed in their duty to assist him, and hopefully his legacy will be that this practice ends here.
@Plangentfall@angryaboutbikes There is a very long history in this country of police arrogance, complacency and just plain malice resulting in people’s deaths. Some are criminals, some not. This predates DEI and it usually works by blaming the victim or suggesting they’re no loss anyway.
