@DewEnjoyer@467Doggo Imo it's both. Wouldn't be the first time the game likes the parallels, the community answering 'Dess' for everything & Dess 'answering' everything with a '''bat''' is ultimately the same thing, tunnel vision.
@467Doggo kind of agreed tbh, I mean the most clear thing about the Knight is that they are NOT afraid to swing that thing like crazy.
I think it might be, like, everything else was lost except that way of seeing the world / interacting with it. Just violence. It doesn't even speak(?).
@scadutree always been really interesting to me how Elden Ring plays around things like Scarlet Rot or Horn-Growth as not inherently cursed, but other ways of living, without a moral angle, while ALSO committing to obligation as a curse.
@scadutree you see it in Hewg & Roderika's quests too, how they speak of the Tarnished's quest to slay a god (and how Roderika considers Hewg's task from Marika as a sort of horrible curse.)
@fortnitebussy1 commenting to the VC 'idk the writing just seems a little sloppier than I'd like even if there's clearly a twist going on :/' -> it actually working because of course Caine doesn't know how to plot to save his life. kinda peak.
@shizunaposting @art_rube Its not going to be War & Peace or anything, but its SUCH a strength of the series that you are rewarded for trying to meet the story on its own terms, that it respects you enough to not lay it all out, but respects itself enough to be confident in what it wants to say.
@shizunaposting @art_rube most of the important stuff isn't even really hidden, items like eg: Dried Bouquet or Fleeting Microcosm literally spell out some major thematic element blatantly, to your face! Or even just putting to words how the OST / Visual Design makes you feel, if you don't like reading.
@All_Lee24 think its just that his kit plays really well into being boosted to a raid boss. Aoe chip + delays, can't burst him down with the increased hp and poise lol.
Sort of like Elemer / BBH
