Out of my usual habitat today Orkney has fabulous ancient sites but so do our neighbours in Caithness, here are the Gray Cairns of Campster and the Hill o’ Many Stanes.

5 years ago, shooting organisations called for a voluntary ban on the use of toxic lead ammunition. Researchers have found it’s not worked.
7,000 tonnes of lead ammunition are scattered across our environment each year.
Time is ticking🕙 Help us #BanLead https://t.co/LkrPc9tuEJ
British pollinators are now starting to fly. Great fun to watch, and to try and identify. Many resources are out there, but here's one I've produced that is free and online https://t.co/81PDNl2PP8. Great coverage of bees, hoverflies etc. Images & species accounts.
Bumblebees out and about enjoying the Perthshire sunshine this afternoon. The first bumblebee is perhaps the most enthusiastic one I've seen so far (just look at the pollen on the head!), and lovely to hear that familiar buzz once more ...
A double thanks to @LindAndLime that both hosted our volunteers for a social gin event this evening.
But also for donating all the money from ticket sales back to us, for the purchase of 1,600 bin bags to support our spring clean up of the river to keep it healthy.
👍👍👍👍👍
We would like to thank @uartlach for sponsoring our 3 day exhibition in parliament next week in the members lobby. SCCU: Raising Awareness of Beach Cleaning Challenges. The @ScotIslandsFed Tarbh Na Muraige (Flotsam Bull) will be joining us too. Please come and say hello.
🌲 Collecting Scots pine seed at Dundreggan calls for expert help! 👷🧗
Since cones release their seeds before falling, we need skilled tree climbers to carefully collect them before that happens.
These seeds will be nurtured in our nursery before being planted to restore woodland on the estate 💚
Today we’ll be looking at our current efforts of plant control on the river Ythan. Currently we have over 50km of river and burns under management for Giant Hogweed and Japanese Knotweed, including major burns such as Fordoun, Tarty, and Foveran. 1/4
A productive morning down at Leith as part of our regular monthly cleanup.
Plenty of rubbish collected Inc 120 cans that were recycled. In addition to sanding the railings ready for painting and path maintenance at Keddie Gardens.

A productive session at Currie, with 20 volunteers out, they gave the river and local area a quality clean up.
Plenty of dog pooh bags removed from the undergrowth
