That's 10,000 avg extra per state. That's an extra 27 per day.

And they show a 5% *increase* in Heart disease deaths. For reference they increased 0.6% the year prior, and 1.2% the year prior to that.

"causes not listed here" is the bucket for all those other ways to die (say, drowning, deaths during surgery, falling down stairs). Point is, this is consistent across years for last decade

They know there are *at least* 3.388m deaths because that is how many death certificates have been entered into the National Mortality Database by States so far for 2020.
