Why are interns/junior doctors expected to work 36-hour shifts? Isn't that inhuman? Doesn't it affect patient safety? The junior doctor in Calcutta who was raped and murdered recently had also done a 36-hour shift. Isn't this illegal?

My Fellow Humans,

For the past two weeks, we have embodied patriotism in ways we never imagined.

I am beyond exhausted.

I was crushed when I launched a search for missing persons and learned that Beasley Kogi Kamau, someone I was deeply worried about, was found in the city mortuary, riddled with bullets, having paid the ultimate price.

What tears at my soul even more is that Beasley was only 22.

TWENTY TWO!!

At 22, your whole life is ahead of you. You aren't yet jaded by the world. You remain hopeful, no matter the obstacles. I'm certain Beasley left home that Thursday morning full of conviction, believing that what he was fighting for was within reach, expecting to be home for dinner that evening.

Revolutions are like that: the intensity of passion and determination often mirrors the depths of sorrow and pain.

Oh, Beasley… I never knew you, but I feel your loss profoundly. Yours and other fallen heroes—my brothers, both young and old, my children aged ten and below in Githurai and Rongai—massacred by a cruel authority and cowardly police force.

The North Will Remember.

For now, we mourn.

We will channel all this pain to improve the lives of our children and their descendants.

Rest in peace, Beasley. You and your fellow fallen heroes were formidable! You gave them Hell. So much so that they have not returned to their homes. Your death will haunt them and their generations to come.

If we were Vikings, we would give you a Viking sendoff to Valhalla on a stone ship like the warrior you were.

For now,

Sleep well, knowing that your sacrifice will not be in vain.
