At this point in our evolution we should fully understand that we're putting words in their mouths, they're coached their whole tiny lives to say what the adults want to hear. They don't fully understand what plenary adoption is.

@llmunro @decsmith50 This is also not about the Childs right to privacy, it's about the AP's right to give their child anonymity in a bizarre witness protection scheme. It's about protecting AP's identity as parents not the children's lost identity and family.

@llmunro @decsmith50 and they have the nerve to suggest THAT's the breach of the UNCRC, which outlines the Childs right to identity. The breach is the secrecy not the transparency.

@llmunro @decsmith50 It's not about privacy, it's about anonymity - these are distinctly different, a child has the right to their identity however scary that is to the AP's whose role is to support the childs identity over their own identity.

The names our family give us are the only thing some of us get and some don’t get that - they are sometimes our culture and significant in layered ways - it’s equally symbolic when erased by adoptive family

Anyone not an adult adoptee being approached by the media about adoption should be checking the outlet are speaking to adult adoptees - there are now several adoptee led groups in the U.K.

Seriously it should be much more embarrassing than it is to run or participate in these stories without asking adoptee activists well versed in adoptee rights and social justice issues
