How does your grassland grow?🌱My new paper found that #bettong#digging creates gaps in #grassland and increases seedling germination for native forbs - but not exotics! @MulligansFlat@MFGO_Exp @ANUFennerSchool @scienceANU https://t.co/8TEACrMQvv
Check out the latest edition of @CSIROhelix featuring an article by yours truly and @ecologibel about the reintroduction of the eastern quoll to @MulligansFlat ! We even made the cover!
Calling all animal lovers! Meet the Eastern Quoll and the efforts being made by Aus researchers to bring the cute critter back from extinction!
Subscribe to Double Helix magazine by 14 April and learn about the big plans for this spotty marsupial.

Which species dominate translocation science? Drumroll... it's the large charismatic mammals (surprise)! 🐆🦬🐘🐑
The field is also dominated by barriers like location + language - so small projects in biodiversity hotspots are often underrepresented 🌏

Do you know many eastern quolls it will take to remove them from the @IUCNRedList - 100, 1000, or 10,000? 🟥
By sending the #doomedsurplus from reintroduced populations to other sites, we can build numbers to achieve #stretchgoals for species recovery! ✅ https://t.co/uafhYJdOn0
Dear @AlboMP & @Tanya_Plibersek,
Australia's > 2000 threatened species & ecological communities would like to know why there's $11.6B for fossil fuel subsidies, > $240B for stage 3 tax cuts, but just $225 million for the Saving Native Species program?

The Government says it can't afford to save the environment alone, and needs the help of private industry 'investment'. As @pollyjhemming and @RDNS_TAI explain, this is just an excuse to offset more environmental destruction. #auspol
New Spin Bin out now!

Would love to know what our new gov is doing about this ongoing partnership between Questacon and one of Australia's biggest emitters. This video is so flawed.
Ed Husic doesn't appear to be on Twitter (?).
Perhaps @Bowenchris and @tanya_plibersek can help pass on the question?
Not my ‘First Speech’, but I did get to address the Senate a couple of times today.
During a discussion about climate action and new coal and gas projects, and earlier in the day when I spoke about the State of the Environment report and our natural heritage.
Did you know reintroduction articles often target charismatic species of least concern, especially in high GDP countries? We need to invest in imperilled and functionally important species, and support these efforts in countries with fewer resources 🌏 https://t.co/C20kh7mJWO
A while back I asked @AdamBandt to respond to the oft-heard accusation that the Greens are reponsible for "a lost decade of climate inaction", and since Albanese revived that accusation the other day, I'd like to revive this interview and Adam's response: https://t.co/1j9v52OA7k
PhD students aren't students in the traditional sense. They are conducting real research.
They are contributing a huge amount of the total labour of our academic research, underpaid and undervalued on two-thirds of the minimum wage https://t.co/on3gjoHjuu via @ConversationEDU
LADS: If blokes you know think a man is great but women you know aren't fans of him, chances are he isn't that great and the guys either ignore, excuse or are spared his worst sides.
I'm sick of men like "Women don't like Morrison. Why?" rather than asking why so many men do.
New PhD opportunity with @westernsydneyu and @BushHeritageAus to model vegetation dieback and recovery in the semi-arid rangelands under climate change. Working with Professor Belinda Medlyn, @Gra_Fin78 and @KatherineTuft

Thank you “Team Tingle” for a successful pitfall survey week. We’ve had some good times and collected stacks of data for @AridRecovery’s 25th year. 🌈 @scribblygum_ @shornwater
@eco__aly I just did a review for a CSIRO journal and they did offer free access for a year. Does your University offer continuing library access for alumni? I believe ANU does.
