@jon_d_doe Oh really! If it's about that, most of these women will remarry in no distant time, but I know a woman (my mum's friend) who stayed for 15 years as a widow and never remarried till she died. My mum is 17 years a widow this year, and there's no sign she wants to remarry

Snakes has been topical since yesterday and RiP to the lady who lost her life due to snake bite.
But what's scary about snakes? Why do we avoid them at all cost?
People fear snakes because they move without legs, appear without warning, and vanish just as fast - but what makes them truly unsettling is not how they look, it’s how advanced they are.
• Snakes don’t have eyelids. They see through a clear scale called a spectacle, which is why their stare feels unblinking. Snake no dey blink!
• They smell with their tongues. Every flick collects chemical signals and delivers them to a special organ in the roof of the mouth. That's why their tongue dey come out.
• Some snakes can sense body heat, allowing them to strike prey accurately in complete darkness. God Abeg!
• A snake’s jaw can unhinge and spread apart, letting it swallow prey much wider than its head. God dey create.
• After swallowing large prey, a snake’s organs temporarily shift position to make space inside the body. 😰
• Not all snakes lay eggs — many give birth to live young, including some common African species.
• Snakes can survive months without food after a large meal because their metabolism slows dramatically.
• Their skin is not slimy; it is dry and smooth, and they shed it whole as they grow.
• Some snakes can play dead when threatened, flipping onto their backs and releasing a foul smell. I'm not familiar with this game!
• Certain snakes can strike in less than a tenth of a second, faster than the human blink. New fear unlocked
• Snake venom is being used to develop medicines for blood pressure, heart disease, and pain control.
• Snakes help control rodents around farms, indirectly protecting crops and stored grains. No we can protect our crops ourselves. We don't need snake to do it for us 😁
• Even venomous snakes usually avoid humans and only bite when stepped on, cornered, or threatened - This one na lie. Dem dey bite unprovoked.
• A snake’s backbone contains hundreds of vertebrae, giving it extreme flexibility and strength.
• Some snakes can recognize regular human activity patterns and adjust their movement times to avoid people.
As much as it's good to know about these beautiful & scary snake facts... Anytime you see snake bro run!
Let's keep our environment clean & tidy
Happy Sunday to you

Dear Nigerians, when a snake bites someone, do not do the following:
- Do not suck or cut the wound.
- Do not tie a tight rope above the bite.
- Do not cut or apply substances.
- Do not put alcohol, palm wine, gin, herbs, salt, engine oil, kerosene etc.
- Do not spread news saying it is spiritual or caused by witchcraft.
- Do not manage it at home.
- Do not wait to cut off the head of the snake so you can show it to the doctor to extract anti-venom.
Do these:
- Keep the person calm and still.
- Immobilize the bitten limb with a splint at heart level.
- Remove tight clothing near the bite.
- Note the time of the bite and symptoms observed.
- Take the person immediately to the nearest hospital that is recognised to have antivenom.
- Hold your politicians accountable especially if you live in an area full of snakes.
Hospitals must have anti-venom in 2025. There must be constant information on which hospitals have them. We can't keep dying for preventable causes in 2026 for crying out loud.
