These are complex times, but I’m excited to share some joyful news: I’m joining the Department of Jewish History and Bible at the University of Haifa, as a scholar of the Hebrew Bible and Second Temple literature./1

It is another valuable contribution to come out of the RCN funded project "'The Lying Pen of Scribes': Manuscript Forgeries, Digital Imaging, and Critical Provenance Research" - PI: @arsteinjustnes, @AgderUniversity@forskningsradet
Congrats to @MichaelDPress on his fantastic piece, "The Provenance of the 'Seiyal Collection.'" It is a well-organized and an exceptionally clear treatment of an often overlooked area in the study of the Dead Sea Scrolls. https://t.co/5zcbrdYR8q #deadseascrolls#provenance
I'm enjoying a coffee & another fascinating article from @arsteinjustnes from DSD Advance Articles: "From Qumran Caves to Swiss Vaults: Unprovenanced Dead Sea Scrolls-Like Fragments and Transformative Travels" https://t.co/SLECiXIXbG - looking forward to seeing it in print!
Pleased to share that this paper will be appearing online soon!
The paper argues that some SP major expansions are not merely copying Pentateuchal material from elsewhere but reflect selective copying that addresses contradictions and tensions inherent in the copied material.
One of the highlights of attending the annual meeting of the @CSBSCom at McGill U this June was getting to see Eileen Schuller, my PhD supervisor, for the first time in-person since 2019. I know I'm a bit late for a conference post, but I didn't want to let this one pass by!
I'm happy to see "Wrapping Up 1QM" published in a special issue of Dead Sea Discoveries in honour of Eibert Tichelaar. https://t.co/TIsqIOTPyr My article began as a project using 3D modeling to reconstruct ancient scrolls at the Sherman Center for Digital Scholarship @macscds
We all owe much to Eibert Tigchelaar, who has always been so generous with his time and expertise in helping those of us in the early stages of our careers. Thank you to George Brooke and Hindy Najman for organizing this issue in his honour! #DeadSeaScrolls#Qumran
