Keep up to date with the wildlife of the Scrubs & events/volunteering opportunities! Run by the Community & Ecology Adviser working for RSPB and idverde.
A special thanks to @idverdeUK and all of the lovely volunteers we’ve had help out! This green flag wouldn’t have been possible without you
And yes, we do indeed have common lizards!
We’re thrilled to announce that Wormwood Scrubs has been awarded a prestigious @KeepBritainTidy Green Flag!
This brings the total number of parks & green spaces in H&F with this award up to 21.
Seems to be quite a widespread trend of vandaliam of signage asking for dogs to be kept on leads. We deal with this issue regularly at the Scrubs. Worth reading this thread!
Sadly a lot of our notices and signs around Wyming Brook, Fox Hagg and Redmires are regularly being vandalised.
We recently replaced these ones only to find them slashed again - with a knife - within days. [1/7]
I’m predicting a bumper year for the #HollyBlue#butterfly this year. There are currently 4 flying at the same time in my #wildlifegarden. Promising signs for the second brood in August. Maximum in flight I’ve seen in this garden is 6, due to the abundance of Holly and Ivy. 😁🦋
Our Ranger Team have recently joined RSPB @Natures_Voice colleagues and undertook Breeding Bird Survey Training to equip them with the ability to record birds on their sites and inform positive habitat management 🐦
@LBofBromley#Bromley
@SarahofScrubs@rock_nester@ChrisGPackham A bit too red to belong to any of our resident breeding birds! I suspect this may have been someone’s snack - many cultures dye eggs red for various reasons
📢 We need your help to spread the word about #HedgehogWeek 🦔
Can you organise a local poster display or leaflet drop? Is there somewhere you could hand out flyers?
