Since R is now the Qanon party, that means it’s D-Q as our two party system. Which means Dairy Queen will now cater all future political functions #blizzardsforall
The elementary school I teach at currently has 21 classes excluded due to COVID. 5 classes are still in session on campus (mine is one of them). I guess the district won’t be happy until we all have it.
Help Ringo their way into the pages of Dogster or Catster Magazine and take home a $5,000 cash prize! https://t.co/sLoZEc0yI4 any prize won goes to @pawsibilitiesNV
Kid in my mom’s classroom was tested for COVID. She’s been “advised” not to get tested until she starts showing symptoms. No other students have been/will be told of potential exposure. Room has not been cleaned.
Districts saying it’s safe/doing their best are lying to you.
Imagine your boss sat on a project for two+ months, just to hand it off to you three weeks before it’s due, giving you the absolute bare minimum to get it ready.
Now, add in that someone’s life could depend on if you get it right.
Not fair?
This is what teachers are facing
Shouldn’t be surprised w/school districts’ push to open in a pandemic.
They’re the same people who witnessed Columbine (& all the hundreds of other school shootings since), shrugged, & went back to business as usual.
They don’t care about students or teachers & they never will.
I don’t understand at all—my district promised DL positions for high risk teachers & people living with high risk family. But they aren’t letting us take those spots. Instead, they are having teachers teach in person AND via DL. This is cruelty for the sake of being cruel.
@AITA_reddit Even if the sister wasn’t pregnant and we weren’t in the middle of a pandemic, she has the right to say no. And OP (who is very much TA) needs to respect that.
@TimeIsNotGiven@AITA_reddit My very white father from Connecticut & my very white mother from Georgia—He expected that shit from her and she did it all—worked full time, raised my sister and I, cooked, cleaned—for 19 years—part of which he had no job—before she finally had enough. Not just a southern thing.
@amiyahkenadee@KELLYROWLAND Something that helped me get through my math course was taking down all the notes in rushed chicken scratch, then rewriting them at home as neatly as I possibly could. Copying them over neatly meant I had to pay closer attention, but I could do it at my own pace at home v class
My superintendent said “Schools need to open to provide a safe space for kids who live in abusive homes.”
The two families I called CPS on last year have both opted for distance learning.
