@w_sgvscanner2@NWSLosAngeles Sweet, thanks! The wording in the long term forecast was calling for a locally “strong” event… but can’t find anything else on speeds. Won’t be good if it shapes up.
#VenturaCounty@NWSLosAngeles Is calling for a 180 in the weather come Monday. Setting up for a Santa Ana Wind Event… expect a lot of trees down in the coming days. Anyone have any good forecasts for this?
If you are in this outlined area. Please take this storm very seriously. Do not wait for an official evacuation notice to leave if you do not feel safe. This will be a life-threatening event.

VCFD along with Ventura City Fire and Santa Paula PD responded to a second alarm structure fire in the 1400 block of East Orchard drive this morning. Arriving units were confronted with a large fire that had consumed multiple vehicles in an exterior parking area and was spreading to adjacent occupancies.
Firefighters made an aggressive and coordinated attack to knock down the fire to keep it from spreading further, while also searching multiple occupancies confirming that all occupants had evacuated. A total of 4 units were damaged by the fire, and 17 vehicles were damaged or destroyed. Thankfully, no injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

With deep sorrow, the Ventura County Fire Department announces the line of duty death of Engineer Thomas “Tommy” James Daniel Minadeo at the age of 32.
Engineer Minadeo dedicated his life to serving and protecting the community with unwavering commitment, professionalism, and heart. His bravery, dedication, and kindness left an indelible mark on those he worked alongside and the countless lives he touched.
Minadeo joined the Ventura County Fire Department as a fire control worker in 2015. In 2017, he was hired as a firefighter, graduating from Academy 54. He was assigned to Truck 54 in Camarillo, Station 26 in Santa Paula, Station 31 in Thousand Oaks, Station 51 in El Rio, Station 55 in Camarillo and Station 53 in Port Hueneme. Tommy promoted to engineer in 2022 and served his final assignment at Station 45 in Simi Valley.
Minadeo was diagnosed with job-related cancer last October and had been undergoing treatment.
“Tommy was part of our fire family for nearly 10 years, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with us in response to our community’s public safety needs,” Fire Chief Dustin Gardner said. “We now stand with Tommy’s family in grieving his passing and supporting each other.”
🚨 REMINDER: Flying drones or unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) near a wildfire is ILLEGAL. 🚨
Aircraft responding to wildfires fly low, and drones in the area can pose a serious threat to the pilot’s safety. A drone causing air operations to shut down also puts firefighters, residents and property at risk.
