I’ll bite:
_Selective Breeding_ argues that the Athenians were right about Socrates, that he was a tutor of would-be tyrants whose teachings attacked the ethical presuppositions of Greek democracy.
Democratic restraints on aristocracy were as much psychological as political: by colonizing men’s minds & getting them to conform to the wisdom of the crowd, the common good, the ways of the elders, the many could put mental shackles on the aristocrats who embodied excellence.
The whole point of Socrates’ teaching was to undermine Athenian values & let the best come to an awareness of a higher, natural right… & the point of Plato’s teaching was to subtly preserve Socrates’ truths while seeming to disavow them.
Pindar is used to great effect to show the sort of ‘unbridled’ aristocratic ethos, when it was allowed to express itself freely.
The idea that philosophy was invented to show the biologically superior the truth of nature & the arbitrariness of customary limitations on their power was profound & thrilling to me when I first read it—couldn’t believe it was actually in a dissertation.
It’s not that _Selective Breeding_ is the academic version of BAM… it’s more that BAM is the kind of encrypted exhortation to the few of which _Selective Breeding_ speaks… it’s a latter-day example of (more or less encrypted) anti-democratic teachings rooted in nature that _Selective Breeding_ found in Plato.
@pontus_rendahl ACBT covers three. Generics covers two, and a combination of environmental, cultural, social / economic structure, elite composition, and genetic factors cover one. Not that hard actually. Hoppe in a brief history of man discusses escaping the Malthusian trap.
@Samtanic_Panic When I was 12 and prepubescent a 15 year old girl was trying to have sex with me and as she was laying on top of me I was too embarrassed to tell her I hadn’t gone through puberty yet and had to tell her I only liked her as a friend.
@TampaBay_Living@AlexanderPayton Trump has already suspended the Jones act so yes these things are currently happening. Prior to suspending the Jones act it didn’t.
the kamala vibe shift is crazy, a trump guy warehouse worker at my workplace was like “my daughters really excited about kamala, i love seeing her excited about politics. i might vote for her” what’s going on
@thetruthzd34@sethjlevy This isn’t affecting Americans at all. 30 cents at the pump is the worst they can do to us? Iran is fucked. No need for this to end soon, that’s fake leftist fear mongering / cope for November.
The obvious conclusion of mass migration is that colonialism was completely justified and needs to come back. Thirdworlders are willing to risk life and limb to live in a country ruled by white people. That desire and our desire to not have them in our countries are compatable.
@valley_kid1@jchristenson_ This may be true, but the narrative of the Federal Government blaming random bystanders for a mistake made by the installation company is completely ridiculous and to believe it is to live in a tv drama-esque fantasy world.
@kingofthehood89@SCHIZO_FREQ You are gay. If someone pretends it’s their intellectual endeavor, okay sure maybe. But many chess players play for fun, because it can be fun. Same goes for film. Are you a self described intellexual?
@sommerkindd@imherefortheoil@SCHIZO_FREQ Depends on the video game. Also different styles of chess can lead to differing levels of intellectual gyms. Play closed games with memorized paths à la the Spelling Bee kids (lower) vs playing open games that drop book moves after move 8-10 (higher).
@Landeur This can only work if the stock given the incentives are good stock. Sure remigrate, but after that? Are you going to denaturalize brownoids? If not, guess who is going to take advantage of these incentive programs at a much higher clip than natives?
