Last week i happened to be among the lucky few who were invited to attend the #ADCSummit2024 at UMA Show Grounds
The event was well organized by Mukisa Foundation and the African Disability Collaboration (ADC).

The major aim for the event was to learn the new advanced assistive technologies which can help, support or meet the needs of African children with disabilities by showcasing innovative solutions, facilitating collaboration among stakeholders, and enhancing the accessibility and affordability of these technologies.
We had very may people who joined us that day and very many speeches from invited guests
Some of them include;

- Opening performance from DAWN CHILDREN'S CENTER
- The Indian Women Association
- A dance performance from KYANINGA CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER
- The presence of Hon Judith Alyek MP Kole District Chairperson Equal Opportunities Committee
- Mr. Francis Mugwanya Founder/Director FATHER'S HEART MOBILITY MINISTRY
-The Presence of Mrs Florence Namaganda co-founder and executive director Mukisa foundation

We have received complaints of human rights violations but am happy we have a human rights tribunal which helps us a lot

He further talks about the hardships he went through while going to school with his brothers as many people said he wouldn’t make it in life
But after 4 years in school, he was able to get a wheel chair from an NGO and that eased his school life

At the #ADCSummit2024 Mr Francis Mugwanya a founder of an organization that gives wheelchairs to people who can not afford goves his story where he says he got polio at 3years and his family could not get a wheelchair
He says it became hard for him to go to school but his family especially the brother didn’t give up on him

There is an urgency to address factors like affordability of wheel chairs because most ordinary families can not afford. They only wait for NGOs
