National Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda is an umbrella organisation of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) advocating for the rights of PWDs in Uganda.
The myth that the body parts of persons with albinism bring wealth or good fortune is false and dangerous. We must reject discrimination, challenge harmful beliefs, and promote inclusion, respect, and protection for all.

As we commemorate #InternationalAlbinismAwarenessDay 2026, we strongly condemn all forms of violence and harmful practices against persons with albinism. Having a different skin pigment does not diminish anyone’s humanity, dignity, or rights. @EstherKyozira@Mglsd_UG@SNUPA6

Last week Uganda launched the National Rehabilitation & Assistive Tech Strategic Plan 2025–2030, a major step toward improving access to rehabilitation & assistive tech services nationwide. Govt is committed to pan for resources to ensure structured & sustainable implementation.
Today, I had the honour of giving the key note address at the launch of Uganda’s 1st National Rehabilitation & Assistive Technology Strategic Plan 2025–2030 by the Ministry of Health. @MinofHealthUG
This strategy is a major step toward ensuring equitable access to quality rehabilitation and assistive technology services for all Ugandans, especially persons with disabilities and other marginalized groups.
At CBM, we believe rehabilitation and assistive technology are not privileges, they are essential to dignity, inclusion, independence, and participation.
Together, let us move from policy to action and ensure no one is left behind.
