Woods joins the Pokes after 4 seasons with Nicholls, serving the last two as hitting coach & recruiting coordinator. He also spent 2022-23 as their volunteer assistant.

Before Nicholls, Gabe made his mark as an assistant coach at St. Thomas Aquinas (Hammond), helping the Falcons to a 28-6 record and a trip to the 2021 state semifinals. He also led Albany High to three straight district titles and playoff runs as the Head Coach. (2017-19).

As a player, Woods competed at Ole Miss, Meridian CC, and Southeastern Louisiana, where he helped the Lions to a conference title & their first NCAA Regional in 20 years.
