→ Kimi k2.5: 73% — 3,000ms per decision (500× slower)
→ Mistral Small: 71% — 18,800ms per decision (3,000× slower)
Both frontier models were explicitly told to "maximise diversity."
Both perseverated more than standard Thompson Sampling — a 90-year-old algorithm with no language understanding.
At 10,000 users:
NCS = 1 CPU core
Frontier inference = 250+ concurrent API slots
The finding:
A neuroscience-derived mechanism (lateral inhibition) running in 6ms outperforms frontier reasoning models at cognitive exploration.

In this new series of developer logs each week i'll be showcasing one of the standout features we've been working on or some of our R&D to proceed with building in public.
I wanted to showcase one of the core components that make our system different to pretty much 90% of the AI space, Relational Vector-Graph Memory.
Our system enables deep contextual relationship development in graph like structures, core memories that persist across states and conversations and chat specific memories that are specific to chat topics as well as emotional tags and vector embeddings for fast semantic analysis.
