@Arsenal_rep1 If we cut costs and increase player sells, it makes us a more profitable asset in the spreadsheet, enhancing the borrowing power of the KSE to the banks, facilitating this purchase.
@AFC__Xtra Now it all makes sense. He’s not buying it with his own money. He has to finance it. Arsenal being a big part of the KSE assets has to look profitable to maximise the borrowing power. Hence we weren’t allowed to overspend and was under a limited budget
@RohanJivanAFC After spending 250m last summer, it was inevitable that we’d have a limited budget this year. We’re an asset to KSE. Debt makes us less valuable to the capital market and KSE. They only made exceptions for superstars because they’re considered valuable assets as well.

@Afc_Nels20 Finally someone identifies the true culprit. Berta doesn’t control the fund. He doesn’t decide how big our budget is, or if we could overspend. These people do.
@themagic_tophat Not the financial rules, but internal pressure to lower debt and spending. My wild guess is to maximise the borrowing power for the stadium expansion.
@ltarsenal The whole thing reeks of the board. It’s not Berta’s money. He has no reason to be sensible with the spending. It has always been the board trying to balance the books after a 250m window last year. They only allowed exceptions for Vini and Alvarez. But we failed both.
@TMtalksball Most players don’t recover well from acl. He’ll return a lesser player. Plus, he’s a spoiled brat, not a fighter. We need fighters in this club.

@DiffKnock I anticipated we were gonna have a smaller window. It’s what we always do after a big summer. Winning the league only validated our business model to the owners. They were ready to go big for Vini, but otherwise the focus is to balance the books by selling.
@VictoryOwai People frustrated have wrong expectations. I was clear the likelihood of us spending big a second consecutive year is small. It doesn’t fit the trend of how we usually operate. Big organizations carry huge momentum in their policies that won’t change overnight
