The redlining map is a poor indicator for how much tax an area brings. For example, in San Diego, almost all of the highest value per acre areas were deemed "definitely declining". The green and blue areas just pissed away all those low interest loans on pools and palm trees.

@OGBlackRedGuard Here in SD, Chinese immigrants owned the fishing businesses so the Catholics (Portuguese and Italians) used the Chinese Exclusion Act to force the Chinese out of the business. The ruins of the old Chinese fishing town became the Convention Center which is hosting Comic-Con now.

It's surreal cuz in Shanghai you're beginning to see all these meetings happening where the old people yell at gov officials against bike lanes, schools, etc. (not sure what they would say about hospitals though). The social conditions determines one's consciousness.

Don't whine about fire insurance rates. Insurance companies do not lie about fire risks cuz they will lose money if they do. You should also look closely at your neighborhood ads. They tell you much more than what their "leaders" will say about what the neighborhood wants .
