@annikadevils Leafs are a mixed bag. D should be better esp with Tanev expected back. They’ve made a pretty big gamble on Bob not aging off a cliff. F group seems like clear top & bottom 6 which feels suboptimal, but Matthews & Willy could almost never take a D-zone start
@repweiner@JeffVeillette They weren’t complaining about having to play against him so much as if FIFA won’t tell their FA why they are suspending the red then rules might as well be written on a napkin. Much more procedural vs the player
@Pickle120319@jamessharman@footy_prime Read something today that he re-injured it after rosters were locked unfortunately. Hindsight Priso probably should have been there over him, but specifically LDF rose to the occasion.
@kevin_p_00@F1RETHECANNON I have more mixed feelings. I understand the why. I think wrt the rule itself it just moves the benchmark, and you can split hairs on that. But in terms of actual gameplay it’ll lead to more defensive gameplay, D setting up deeper. But 🤷🏻♂️
@CCupo@jennyachiu Really to my original point is if the ref is only shown Balogun stepping through like that red makes sense in isolation. It ignores the initial challenge from the Bosnian where he cuts him off, and if he initiates contact that is important context.
@CCupo@jennyachiu Maybe I’m misunderstanding. Where does it say they can’t review for a serious foul when there’s no call on the field? It’s a rabbit hole I’d read down if I can find it.
@the_bonnfire It’s just a wrong statement meant to further the point that you can easily fact check. It’s sloppy. It makes the critique sound petty. Rip Ronaldo all you want. It would be very fair to say they’re better with him on the bench.
