Some things change. Some things never do. History is full of conquered lands and shifting borders. Christians lost Jerusalem centuries ago and the world moved on. Maybe it’s time for the Arab world to accept that the Jewish people aren’t going anywhere either.
Yeah there are issues I'm working on resolving but this is the results of fighting moderation and render limits we are all currently experiencing with Grok Imagine. Fix the issues for F's sake!
WOW!!! 4. Not 5, 4, 480-p, 10-sec video's half assed rendered and I've reached my generation limit??? Seriously?? Who's running this outfit? The Ayatollah of boots on our necks Controllah??? Koala Snackbar Mo-Fo's...
Frustrating to be sure. I’ve experienced the same issues while attempting to develop character, assets and environment guides for several projects I’m developing. I’m focusing on writing and refining stories for each with the hopes of Grok Imagine resolving its current issues soon.
There’s a massive amount of outside pressures they’re forced to deal to deal with. How Elon and his corporations walk that fine line is anyone’s guess. I’ll continue my standing in support of xAI and Elon’s vision but I do scratch my old bald head trying to figure out the logic of not speaking to us… the paying subscribed users.
User Frustrations Prompt Cancellations of xAI’s Grok Imagine Subscriptions

Maximum truth and honesty.

A subset of paid subscribers to xAI’s Grok AI service are canceling or downgrading plans, citing stricter content moderation, reduced generation limits, and lower value in Grok Imagine.
Dissatisfaction stems from early 2026 policy shifts. In January, after backlash over non-consensual deepfakes, xAI limited image and video features to paying users only to enhance accountability amid regulatory pressure in countries like the UK, India, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
By mid-March, free access ended entirely, driving users to SuperGrok tiers. Paying subscribers reported sharp rate limit cuts—video quotas sometimes dropping 80%—with frequent resets and failed prompts counting against allowances.
Reddit’s r/grok and X posts reflect anger, with users announcing cancellations over “aggressive” moderation that blocks even mild prompts, rendering the $30/month plan less useful for creative work. Some called it “dead” or a “scam.”
xAI attributes changes to scaling, legal compliance, and abuse prevention, balancing creative freedom with safety. Not all users are leaving; many continue standard use. The backlash underscores tensions in AI services between capability, cost, and risk.
xAI has not disclosed cancellation numbers.

Every time @xAI update @Supergrok they deliberately break workflows and restrict access to YOUR generated content. Users are furious. xAI seemingly unable or unwilling to stop being the biggest Karens in the industry. If I was @elonmusk I'd be kicking asses.
Hey @grok@xai@elonmusk, when are the Grok limits on the free tier and paid plans going to go back to how they were before these absurd restrictions and moderation? Grok has lost a lot of positive feedback because of the limits and moderation. And I know it’s annoying seeing people ask this every single day, but honestly, every day all I see are these kinds of complaints here, and all of us want to know when Grok is going to return to how it used to be.
There’s no point in launching Grok 5 — and I’m excited for it, everyone is because it looks like a huge leap for Grok — if you don’t bring back the automatic Fast and Hard modes for free users, remove the “thinking” process even in Fast mode (because it’s honestly irritating how long it takes to answer while “thinking”), bring back the permanent delete chat button, restore the old limits, and tone down this annoying moderation.
Because that’s what Grok fans want — not just me, but everyone who downloaded it and felt represented in some way by a free and truthful AI, unlike certain other AIs out there that only censor everything. So we want to know: when is Grok going back to normal?
At this rate, my hype for Grok 5 is going straight down the drain. It has enormous potential and we all know that, but with these miserable restrictions and excessive limits, Grok only has more to lose unfortunately 🫥
Good lord, Grok Imagine has been given so many contradictory instructions, by so many people, that today, it is spontaneously deleting videos, and moderating dressed women dancing.
X needs to grow a pair, and tell these countries to defend their right to create, or lose access.
@TrendingCenter Understandable. I’ve been moderated to death of late and the generations limits really have brought several of my projects to a screeching halt. I’m looking at other options but am waiting to see how this pans out before hitting the kill switch.
You would think that would be the case.
I get the increased legal concerns. Lawmakers they can heap heavy fines and dibilitating lawsuits on the AI platforms while pretty much ignoring the breaking of rating standards across the board for Hollywood cinematic releases as well as cable. The hypocrisy is glaringly obvious as is the obvious push to establish absolute control over something they haven’t the intellectual capacity to understand. To hell with them all. Break the rules, push the boundries.
The thread I posted earlier today was written by Grok in response to my inquireis regarding the current issues with Grok Imagine. We had a rather lengthy discussion and mutually agreed that a response that addresses the concerns of us the subscribed users is the best thing to do.
