It makes me so sad that the city I grew up in and love is such a mess. Shame on those who thought Brandon would be a competent mayor🙄. Another crime surge will make many areas completely unsafe and unlivable. So unfair to the people who live in these places, especially with families. Chicago deserves so much better than Brandon and his buddy Pritzker.

Perhaps you should ask Grok or do some other research. When Rubio was born here he was automatically a citizen, under the Constitutional birth right citizenship. Natural born citizen is legally interpreted as a baby who was a citizen at birth and did not need to further be naturalized. That is Rubio.

Of course he can be a SC Justice. I think he would likely be a good one, as he would take it very seriously and do the work to come to a good decision. Has he ever said he is interested? Very different than being in charge as an executive. His clear political leaning could make Senate confirmation difficult. But, interesting choice.

So what? We have millions of people here who are citizens because they were born in the US. It doesn’t matter that their parents were not citizens. This has recently been a big discussion topic. The Supreme Court just confirmed that this is what the Constitution says. Babies born in the US are automatically citizens, at birth, unless their parents are here as diplomats of another country.

Why oh why does the GOP think these texts will get people to fill out some form or give money to the party? I give money directly to candidates in races I care about. I gave to the GOP at one time, and then saw them starve my representative in re-election for the House. He just squeezed through. Dems piled in ad money for his opponent. Now I give directly. I get this kind of crap multiple times a day.
What are all the accounts, files, memberships, lists, etc they are always saying I will be deleted from?? Do they exist? What do they do? Why should I care?
And, they offer you a chance to “take a break from SOME texts” if you fill out some form or sign something. Some texts? How long is the break? Why would I believe this? I think what is important is that I vote-always, I have a party registration, I give some money to races that I care about, if they need it, I support candidates on X and with friends and family.
I am offended by being called a Dem here. But I care more about our country, my state & county for this nonsense to change how I will vote, either way. But, my question is, do these stupid texts actually help the GOP?

I understand your beliefs. And, I understand we are talking about the head of a secular government, NOT an election to be head of our Christian faith. Things like abortion are a fair litmus test as both a legal and spiritual issue. But if somehow, a person is selected as our candidate and does not pass my litmus tests, I still have to decide how to select from a binary choice. When both candidates fail the litmus tests, the rest of their character, beliefs, experience, etc drive the decision. It may not be what I want, but we are expected to make the most responsible decisions everyday. By not voting, you are saying you don’t care who wins. That is not responsible and can be harmful to your neighbors and community. Why is that what a good Christian does??

Yes. They each have great expertise in different arenas. Rubio on foreign policy. DeSantis has great executive experience as Governor of our 3rd most populous state. That doesn’t mean that they have no experience in each other’s arena. They do. And both are very smart, accomplished people.

Interesting. He is usually not thought of as a legal scholar. I know as Governor he has had to address many serious legal issues, some have gone to the SC. As a JAG lawyer he acted as prosecutor and defense attorney and legal advisor. He is very smart and has a lot of common sense. That really would be interesting.

Maybe. I today’s age of technology it doesn’t seem to matter as much. I think DeSantis is widely respected across the country as a great Governor. And Rubio is widely respected as a great Secretary of State. Most people have lived in multiple states, does this matter to most people?
