Savanna Dooley

I'm Savanna! I'm in the Masters in Teaching program at USC and plan to teach middle or high school biology when I graduate!

I love my school because the staff are so friendly and supportive. And because of our awesome science department! #Lex1Leads

@LaurettaG_MT @DrTchr I think principals need to be held more accountable but unfortunately, this would go above what teachers can do.

[Savanna Dooley @sdooley0313]

#WMM12 Student-centered community partnerships are a great way to create hands-on learning opportunities for the students. #teachergrind425

[Savanna Dooley @sdooley0313]

#WMM11 It is important for principals to know what's best for the school b/c they are the "gatekeepers to change" #teachergrind425

[Savanna Dooley @sdooley0313]

"3. You need high quality teachers with compassion" This is so important but lacking in the U.S. #teachergrind425 https://t.co/fqiLQFAhBf

Be sure to rock your green apparel this Friday to support all the First Generation college students: http://t.co/WF7UoaiO12 #ProofPointDay

[Savanna Dooley @sdooley0313]

@mmaeger I never had to wear them but I like the idea of them. One less way in which a student could get picked on. #teachergrind425

[Savanna Dooley @sdooley0313]

@FMSBrazier @education_smo @MissTaylorChris I'm a fan of uniforms also. Cuts down on bullying and dress code violations. #teachergrind425

[Savanna Dooley @sdooley0313]

I'm a 1st gen college grad & it was def tough but I did it. Will use as an example for my students #teachergrind425 https://t.co/AxIqDG66Rl

Countless first generation college students are graduating—now that's something to celebrate: http://t.co/lD9LDpVstq #ProofPointDay

[Savanna Dooley @sdooley0313]

#WMM10 It is important that MS students have a good relationship with a teacher/counselor within the school. #teachergrind425

[Savanna Dooley @sdooley0313]

@Prascilla1316 @PorterElise Same here. Every time I tell somebody that, all they do is say "Are you crazy?" Very sad. #teachergrind425

[Savanna Dooley @sdooley0313]

@MrsShealy I agree. Body types make a difference too. For example, taller students usually have more issues wearing shorts #teachergrind425

[Savanna Dooley @sdooley0313]

#WMM9 A democratic governance system is a very important part of creating a successful MS. #teachergrind425

[Savanna Dooley @sdooley0313]

@FMSBrazier @MrsShealy Maybe they could have a separate class/exercise routine for those with disabilities #teachergrind425

[Savanna Dooley @sdooley0313]

@Sciences_Monkey I highly doubt it. Especially MS. Even if they are, they are going to eat whatever is provided. #teachergrind425

[Savanna Dooley @sdooley0313]

@Haselden_R I would even consider uniforms. I think it cuts down on a lot of bullying and dress code violations. #teachergrind425

[Ed Post 🎓 @edu_post]

To say in-school factors don't affect student achievement is ridiculous, say these former Teachers of the Year: http://t.co/HuOXjtTb1g

[Savanna Dooley @sdooley0313]

We need to make this happen. #teachergrind425 https://t.co/rBc3jtvnQO

"All students have a right to an education that helps them realize their greatest potential." @arneduncan

[Savanna Dooley @sdooley0313]

@Sciences_Monkey Neither did I. I don't ever remember talking to my guidance counselors. #teachergrind425

@cam42292 @mbaker074 @29229Jessica Also, some of the money saved could be put towards transition programs #teachergrind425
