Those two reunion flowers with a bud in the middle remind me of Aerith's brooch with its two reunion flowers and what looks like half of a smaller one...
🙃 I can't help it, my brain just wants to see a clerith baby 🌏🐣☁️
“Marlene is just a child”
…Who was written, then animated by, a full team of adults committed to a cohesive narrative. Y’all really think they wasted time, money, & resources on that scene for…kicks and giggles? And then made it a main narrative scene? Be serious.
@kibbysipping The same child who foresees Aerith being murdered by Sephiroth. But when it comes to Aerith's feelings, the very woman who personally transmitted information to her, she couldn't possibly know 🙃
"She's just a child, she doesn't know what she's talking about."
No, in that scene she primarily functions as a narrative device.
The devs are talking to you through her in case you missed out on Aerith's dialogue, which is, despite being optional, essential to the main story.
“She’s just a child” but she is more perceptive than the real adults combined.
She narrated the opening of Advent Children.
Using a child’s lens to spell out the unsaid obvious fact is such a common writing tool.
Also Zack is being used as a narrative device as well. To confirm through his question that Aerith has romantic feelings for Cloud despite him being present.
This was Zack's rejection scene and he took it like a champ and still supports Cloud and Aerith as a good friend does
What's so hard to understand?
Everything we experience in the game is created by professionals who know what they're doing.
It's fine if you don't like it, but claiming that the bloody introduction to the final chapter of the game is just a child blathering nonsense is crazy 🫣
In the original game it was a very significant part of Aeriths character development. Learning how to live, and love again. As she says " This is a strange place, flowers bloom here all year long. Seasons never change, and my feelings never change. I'm stuck."
I think it took such a great love like Cloud, someone who was able to show her the world in a way she never was able to before, healed her. Healed her broken heart until she was able to accept her love for Cloud. Someone who made her a priority, someone who supported her until the very end, even if it meant he had to face his darkest fears, he came for her.
Her line as she's dying in her monologue " I heard with a new love you forget the old, is that what this is? My heart hurts faintly." That is a very important part of Aerith's character development as a whole.
@Saint_Pingu It's truly bizarre that folks cling to the whole "She's dead." thing when Cloud Strife doesn't give a fuck. Regardless, he want's Aerith Gainsborough and he wants her now.🤗😂 What is Cloud's story after Aerith dies in the OG? Finding his promised land. He'll save her this time.
@mypmaya The problem with the ZA is that they refuse to let Aerith grow, they want to keep her pining for Zack, and to that end, they are willing to demonize her all while claiming to be the only ones who love her for who she really is.
@kibbysipping The devs are very deliberate with details and foreshadowing. So I think it's safe to say that this is indeed intentional and meaningful 🙂
I need at least one of these two scenes captured as a statue. The way they look at each other so softly and lovingly after he saved her completely melts my heart. So precious ❤️🥹
