Undisclosed Scope 3 emissions are a huge investment risk.
1. Do you believe disclosure standards are higher in 5-10 years?
2. What about emissions standards or any effective, business cost of carbon?
3. Do you consider yourself a long term investor?
If Yes” to all 3…
My jaw continues to drop. That "personal record" from the Arctic I reported yesterday at +7.1 C just warmed up today (Saturday) to +7.4 C. Again, I have never seen the Arctic this anomalously warm in March. #LeadOnClimate@algore#ClimateChangeIsReal@AlexandriaV2005
Thread: It’s been long recognised that #climatechange is super charging extreme weather impacts - from super typhoons, hurricanes, to killer floods & droughts. This is happening at 1c. For the people of the global South there is no safe temp limit. https://t.co/Ureo8MeGof
Couldn’t agree more. The current building by building approach won’t generate the speed of climate action needed. We need systemic industry by industry change.
Forget about Life-Cycle Analyses, we don't have time. The CO2 emissions from making stuff like concrete, plastic, aluminum and steel matter right now. https://t.co/x0g5AoOzyV
@sterndavidi@ClimateHuman @JKush420YOLO Very true in terms of energy with the electrification of passenger vehicles and a shift towards electric heating to avoid gas for heating. But with the increased uptake of renewable electricity it is likely that the percentage of emissions from electricity will continue to fall
@ClimateHuman @JKush420YOLO @sterndavidi Also worth remembering that electricity is around 20-25% of emissions, so renewables and storage only solves a portion of global emissions. We need to solve liquid fuels, aviation fuel, meat consumption and manufacturing to reach zero emissions.
.@SwissRe is a strong supporter of transitioning to a #LowCarbonEconomy, and today we began to implement our policy of not offering reinsurance to businesses with more than 30% exposure to #thermalcoal: https://t.co/CZ2vfUBini #RenewableEnergy
Last year, extreme weather displaced almost 19 million people around the world, says @UN chief @antonioguterres https://t.co/S43eD7cONS Governments need to prepare for millions more #climate refugees, above all in Asia, according to @unisdr

Incredible: In the coming years, the world is expected add 70,000 solar panels *every hour*—enough to cover 1,000 soccer pitches every day. https://t.co/URujUT9OKd
.@bhp beats @Tesla to the electric ute #EV#EVUte "Mining fleet using renewable energy could cut its total energy costs by 10-20 per cent compared to the cost of diesel fuel" and eliminate diesel air pollution benefiting worker health https://t.co/g1Bt831kPE
Sink your teeth into this fact: Swapping 30% of beef with mushrooms in every American burger is like taking 2.3 million cars off the road. Research by @WRIFood: https://t.co/BcZN7MFzun #shiftingdiets#BetterBuyingLab
Huge is an understatement!
India’s energy minister has flagged a #solar tender of 100GW (that’s a massive 100,000MW). For context Australia’s current largest solar farm is 124MW 😮🌞#Repower https://t.co/r4bRWiB7DI
