🎙️| Zlatan Ibrahimović on Spain’s performance 👀🇪🇸
“I’m confused by modern football.
I watched Spain today and when the match ended, all I saw was people talking about Lamine Yamal.
Did we watch the same game?
For me, Mikel Oyarzabal was the one doing the dirty work. He was making the runs, creating space, pressing defenders and sacrificing himself for the team. But because he doesn’t do a few stepovers and have social media clips made about him, nobody wants to talk about him.
This is the problem with football today. Fans are more interested in building superstars than understanding what they’re watching.
Spain could win 5-0 and some people would still only talk about one player.
Lamine is a fantastic talent, but not every good performance belongs to him. Sometimes the player getting all the praise isn’t even the player who did the hardest job.
If Oyarzabal played the exact same game with Lamine’s name on the back of his shirt, people would be calling it a Ballon d’Or performance right now.
That’s the truth nobody wants to admit.”
Paul Scholes on Mikel Oyarzabal delivering 21 G/A in his last 13 games for Spain:
🗣️ “The funny thing about Oyarzabal is that people keep talking about other stars, yet he just keeps producing numbers that most forwards would dream of.”
“Fourteen goals and seven assists in thirteen games is ridiculous. If a bigger-name player was putting up those numbers, we'd be hearing about it every single day.”
“He's one of the most underrated attackers in world football. No drama, no headlines, no social media circus — just goals, assists, and top performances whenever Spain need him.”
“The only game without a goal contribution was against Cape Verde, and then he immediately came back and started delivering again. That's what top players do.”
“What I love is his consistency. He's not a player who disappears for weeks and then scores a hat-trick. He impacts games constantly.”
“Everyone talks about Spain's young stars, but Oyarzabal is quietly becoming the player opponents fear the most. Every time he gets near the box, something happens.”
“At some point, we need to stop calling him underrated. When you're producing 21 goal contributions in 13 games, you're not underrated anymore you're simply one of the most effective players in international football.”
“And if he keeps this up throughout the World Cup, people won't be asking why he's underrated. They'll be asking why they didn't appreciate him sooner.”

Llaman Vascongadas a nuestra tierra porque dicen que se ha llamado así durante siglos, pero llamas Al-Ándalus a la suya, por la misma razón y se te enfadan todos los Mustafás tontigualdos.
