@PhilSpeculates Mirror universe? Sure, that's just everyone being the most evil version of themselves. Easy to believe. Godlike alien illusionists? Bonkers, especially when you plonk it into a series that sticks to fairly modern scifi ideas.
Star Trek Discovery Season 2 Episode 8 is a reminder of just how damned weird the original series could be.
I probably enjoyed it for that reason as much as anything.
