Storm Fans - Please help me welcome Sean Bloomfield, who will be our next Head Boys’ Hockey coach pending board approval. I am excited for Coach Bloomfield to join the Storm family! For a full bio, please see the attachment. #WelcomeCoach#RollStorm
David was a class act & pro as he joined the 23-24 Storm in our quest for the state tournament. More importantly he was a great guy. I can’t pretend to have known him as well as many, but our hours spent chatting abt hockey & life over that season will stick with me forever. RIP.
Rest in peace, @David_LaVaque, one of the hardest-working sportswriters out there who shared countless stories from Minnesota high school sports.
Beyond being a wonderful guy to spend time with in a press box, he was an annual guest on @KFAN1003’s State Boys Hockey Tournament coverage. His absence was felt at this year’s tournament, and it will continue to be felt at future tournaments for many years to come.
He covered countless sports and athletes across the state of Minnesota, but his hockey coverage was his finest work. From embedding with @HMBoysHockey to Tourney Time, the book he co-authored with @LorenNelson4, he earned the trust of hockey coaches, players and fans across the State of Hockey.
This is a tremendous loss that came far too soon. My thoughts are with the La Vaque family.
It always stings to end a season in a loss. But the end doesn’t change that there was something special about this group.
No egos, just team. No excuses, just solutions & work.
Thank you seniors for an incredible run. Underclassmen embrace the sting & let it fuel your training!

“The thing I learned while I was up there (the NHL) was how much everybody loves hockey. You have to love hockey to get to this level because you have to work so hard, and the only way you work hard is if you love it.”
Amen, Josh Dunne, amen.
If you want to support your kid in their dream to play at the highest levels of this game, the most important thing you need to do is create an environment where they will continue to fall in love with the game.
Huge congratulations to senior captain Brady Robbins, selected as the Storm’s Hobey Baker Character Award winner. Humble, loyal, competitive, and a leader on and off the ice, Brady deserves every recognition he gets!
Rest In Peace John. Your positive support for ALL Minnesota high school teams was a breath of fresh air and made the culture of high school hockey in our state better. He will be dearly missed, but certainly not forgotten!
Fab 5 John Miller passed away peacefully yesterday surrounded by loving family in his home. Funeral Mass 11am Sat Mar 8 at Our Lady of Grace in Edina. Visitation prior at 10am. Appropriately, it worked out without conflict of the AA bracket - John would have wanted it this way.❤️
Our goalie coach, Jason Jensen, is in the ICU after an accident on the ice Friday. Keep Coach Jens and his family in your thoughts and prayers and please consider donating to support his family during this difficult time.
