@girdley I’m both a small business manager and a parent of teens in Seattle with a daughter that has a part time job - a very high minimum wage for teens in this area ($21/hr) makes it really tough to consider hiring young people. That’s just Seattle though and not applicable everywhere.

I’m in the moving and storage business and this might be a bit high but isn’t totally out of line. If they truly have 16k lbs (which is on the larger side) this shipment isn’t on pallets it is in storage crates that don’t leave the warehouse. The first price is for unloading of those crates into a 53’ furniture trailer, transporting , and then delivering into a residence at destination. Very labor intensive. There are definitely bad actors in the industry, but the moving and storage industry is a low margin/high labor intensity industry.

@TRUmav Check out Alki beach in West Seattle for views of the Space Needle and downtown (without having to go downtown).

The City Center and MoPop are cool if you do venture downtown.

Lastly the views from Queen Anne of the city skyline and Mt Rainier are pretty amazing.
