Senator Scott, if you want states to hold onto illegal criminals on an immigration detainer here is an idea - pay for the time they are to be incarcerated by the state after their sentence is completed.

It simply limits when local police or government agencies will help enforce federal immigration laws, such as honoring certain ICE detainers or resources. ICE still has full authority to enforce federal immigration law
