Please remember this is a journey and there are many optional paths to take. Often times it is a chicken or egg discussion. Is the organisation mature enough to transform and then move or should they move and then use cloud services to help transform. https://t.co/jItYZZmdbV

Submit a city and things you like + a second city. Ex: oh you like this shmancy restaurant in New York City and you're looking for a similar thing in Wichita Kansas? Then you should try ____.
Sharing important AI timeline predictions ⬇️
Let me start with: I’m tired of rose-colored AGI glasses wearers who hide behind vague AI timelines.
They'll say "AI will create more jobs!" without saying when.
They'll warn about "mass job displacement!" without saying when.
They keep it vague on purpose—to incite panic, farm engagement, and dodge accountability. They refuse to even hedge a guess on when things will happen (or what assumptions/dependencies exist), which only causes more chaos and volatility.
I just spent a few days in SF and asked every single VC* I met with these questions. Here's their collective view and the assumptions baked into each:
VCs I spoke with believe considerable job losses from AI will start in 1-2 years. This is based on their assumption that AI will continue to improve exponentially, not linearly, and not stall.
They believe mass job losses will be in 3-5 years. This is based on the same assumption above and their assumption of market volatility and a further decoupling of wages and productivity.
And they believe it will take several decades (30-100 years) to see net job growth, if ever. This is based on the assumption that 1 and 2 from above both happen and based on previous revolutions like the printing press. They also often spoke about the difference between first adopters and the masses. Every VC I spoke with pushed for mass upskilling and encourages everyone, especially students, to learn AI to stay ahead.
I post about AI because everyone deserves to understand the changes coming to their industry, their work, and their lives - not just those in small AI circles.
Sometimes, that will be a cool new tool or research. And sometimes, that will be scary predictions from tech insiders. But you deserve to hear both.
*note: VCs are just one predictor group. If you want to get better at understanding more of the key stakeholders in AI, I would also recommend digging into AI researchers/academics, AI executives (labs), top AI startup execs, F500 execs, and economists/bankers.
I run an AI-first team.
If we’ve done something 3 times and we think it’ll happen at least 10 more times, we make a GPT.
If the payback period for a new tool is under a week, we buy it for a year.
If the payback period for a new tool is under a month, we buy it the next month.
We invite AI into all of our brainstorms.
We use AI to design new websites.
We leverage AI for custom code.
We don’t say Google it, we say ask AI.
Nearly everything we do—every meeting, every newsletter, every contract—is supported with AI.
(Equally important: we have a policy of when NOT to use AI.)
We spend thousands of dollars a year on AI tools and compute.
And it’s worth every penny.
