Nigeria faces deep systemic and governance challenges that must be addressed if we are to fully harness the talent, creativity, and craftsmanship of our people and build a globally competitive workforce.
Not sure why many people are upset with the Moniepoint CEO’s comments about employability in Nigeria. If you’ve hired and managed teams locally, you’ll likely understand the context behind the statement.
Technical ability alone is no longer enough in today’s workplace — communication, teamwork, adaptability, and professionalism are equally important.
Ultimately, I believe the issue is larger than employability alone.
@Mimi_yakigar Please where in the UK have you seen parking on the highway? Hard shoulders are not meant for parking!!! Basic driving theory test questions and answer. If your car brakes down, you need to put a triangle behind it at least 3m away from the car.
@Onsogbu In a sane country with proper road safety institutions, that lorry would be marked as a major hazard, if the lorry broke down, I expect to see a warning triangle at least 3 meters behind the lorry to warn incoming vehicle of a hazard.
@Onsogbu First of all,
- How do you know the driver was overspending?
- What is the speed limit on that highway?
- Where there any signage to let people know what the speed limit is?
- A truck cannot casually park on the side of the road because that is not a parking spot for trucks
@yakubwudil Most of the flight fair goes to the government of the country they are going to or flying from. In Nigeria situation, we charge them a lot of money to fly in and out from our country hence the premium price
@JoeyAkan Comparing Asake’s music in 2011 and Burna’s when he started is a whole new level of low. Burna was a star in PH before lagos knew him and Nigeria doesn’t start and stop in Lagos
As much as I love how fast tech is moving and the positive impact it has on the economy, I believe we should also appreciate and support industries that are not reliant on computers to complete their basic task. For example carpentry, building, farming etc
We need them as much as we need computers. I can envisage a future where humans would not have the basic skills to complete simple task because of the over reliant on computers, that would be scary because imagine if something happens and we don’t have access to computers anymore
