The problem with tech is that it’s still largely being built by men who’ve never felt truly connected to themselves, to others, or to the world. It’s revenge-of-the-nerd energy disguised as innovation, and it’s torpedoing culture, intimacy, and meaning in the process.
A demo is architecture. A sketch. Temperature check. Momentum capture. Especially for artists like me, where the records evolve through arrangement, mix, sequencing, context, visuals, and repetition. Judging an unfinished demo like it’s the mastered release is like tasting ingredients out of the pan halfway through cooking and acting confused that it doesn’t taste like the finished meal yet.
