@beeGamingLive@Avast_o@flameirl I’m also not trying to argue. You’re right. It’s hella expensive. It’s also not wrong to say it’s a relatively small step up between LA county and Dallas county, all commutes and relative amenities being comparable
@beeGamingLive@Avast_o@flameirl The price on their site? I’ve also lived both places. There’s no doubt LA costs more. The point of OPs post is there’s not much of a step up (~20%). Not going to argue about the “niceness” of a place I’ve stayed, but a quick search online gives more than zero options at $1500.
@beeGamingLive@Avast_o@flameirl Comparable apartments in both: Avalon WeHo: $3,200, Residences @ Park District: $4,800. The Hamilton Dallas: $1,900; PE Lofts DTLA: $2,021. These are “luxury” apartments but even for a comfortable place near-ish work you’re looking b/t $1,400 - $1,800 both places
@beeGamingLive@Avast_o@flameirl “The Dallas area” is like saying “The LA area.” I can find $800 apartments in both but you’re going to be driving 2 hrs both ways. Census median rent Dallas: $984; LA: $1,322. Neither are indicative of young people since this includes long haul commuters.
@Reinforce Honestly just doing the classes on @treehouse is the best way to learn. They’re digestible 2-5 minute videos with coding challenges throughout. Plus the community is amazing. I always suggest them. Imo JavaScript >>> Python tho unless you’re doing math based stuff.
