@jonathanmaze In a way I think that variety is great. Heck - even outside of the food space. Franchise opportunities abound in every area, every expense, and every vertical. It’s really quite amazing. And with that variety is room for a lot of success and absolute failure.
@jonathanmaze That true spirit question is definitely a thinker. Because at some point the franchisee is so big they need their own systems and processes which is what the franchisor should be providing. So what then when there is conflict? Or just a great learning that would help everyone?
@jonathanmaze Because sometimes the small ones have outside investment and sometimes the large ones are based in the communities where they operate. Or they have restaurant operating partners who are local. Or not. It’s all over the place. It’s one of the great opportunities for franchisors.
@jonathanmaze There is a lot of nuance because of course you are right - there are big massive franchisees out there. Then there are the small franchisees (and the really small single unit multi-owner). And then everything in between. And even that isn’t the full story …
I’m a tech nerd. I’m just a nerd. So I think I get even more frustrated when I see tech deployed that doesn’t work. I get edge cases. But when fundamental functions fail - don’t deploy!
