On June 3, 2026, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Organized Retail Crime Task Force partnered with Target as part of a National Organized Retail Theft Blitz focused on identifying and apprehending repeat offenders and retail thieves.

The operation resulted in seven arrests, including two felony arrests under Proposition 36, three additional felony drug-related charges, and two warrant arrests involving a total of five outstanding warrants. Deputies also issued ten trespass notices and cited several additional individuals.

Organized retail theft continues to impact businesses, employees, and consumers throughout our community. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to working alongside our retail partners to hold offenders accountable and protect local businesses.

A bright red architectural ribbon cuts through the historic rooftops of Nanjing.

Designed by Dayi Design, Red Lobster / Big Red Crayfish is a renovation project in the Qinhuai River district, one of the city’s oldest cultural areas. Instead of turning the existing buildings into untouchable relics, the project reactivates them as a contemporary dining and commercial space.

Its most striking feature is the sinuous red steel stairway that winds through the courtyards, linking separate historic buildings into one continuous route. The vivid red intervention creates a sharp contrast with the white walls and grey tiled roofs, but it also gives the old complex a new public life.

The Eiffel Tower you know is not exactly the Eiffel Tower that opened in 1889.

Its first platform was once wrapped with ornate decorative arcades — part of the architectural embellishments added by Stephen Sauvestre to soften the tower’s industrial iron structure. But for the 1937 Paris International Exposition, the first level was modernized under André Granet: the old decorative arcades were removed and replaced with cleaner, straighter galleries.

The change was so seamless that most people today have never seen the original version. What we recognize now is a simplified Eiffel Tower — less Victorian, more modern, and shaped partly by a renovation nearly 50 years after it was built.
