BACKGROUND
In March 2026, PacifiCorp and PGE filed an application to allow the transfer of service territory and sale of PacifiCorp assets. If the commission approves the request, PGE and its financial partner Manulife will purchase certain PacifiCorp Washington-based power generation facilities and equipment. A new, independent utility (currently named Gem) will be formed and provide service to PacifiCorp’s current customers in Washington. Together, PGE and Gem will manage daily operations and serve Washington customers.

Everybody wants to talk about Oregon beating Portland State 84–0.

Meanwhile, Ohio State dropped 59 on Kent State, including a 49-yard Hail Mary as time expired in the first half while already leading 28–0.
And you know what?
I don't have a problem with Ohio State doing it either.
Because this is FOOTBALL.
I spoke with some Oregon players Saturday, and I'll tell you something that made me smile:
THEY WANTED 100.
Of course they did.
These guys are competitors.
And here's the part people are missing:
When the starters leave, what exactly are Oregon's freshmen and backups supposed to do?
They've spent months lifting, practicing, studying the playbook and fighting for opportunities.
Then they finally get onto the field at Autzen...
And we're supposed to tell them:
"Hey kid, don't play too hard. We're winning by too much."
Come on.
If a freshman gets five carries all season, those five carries MATTER.
If a backup receiver finally gets his opportunity, that catch MATTERS.
If a young Duck gets his first chance to score a touchdown at Autzen Stadium, that moment may stay with him for the rest of his life.
You don't develop football players by asking them not to play football.
And let's be clear:
Oregon didn't need 84 points to prove it was better than Portland State.
We knew that.
But after the Oklahoma State loss, Oregon needed execution, confidence and meaningful repetitions before Big Ten play.
They got all three.
So where exactly is this imaginary line?
Is 49 respectful?
Is 59 okay?
70?
77?
But suddenly 84 means you've violated some unwritten football code?
Nah.
If college football doesn't like these mismatches, then let's have a conversation about SCHEDULING.
But once both teams put on helmets, step onto the field and that ball gets kicked?PLAY FOOTBALL.
Oregon scored 84.
Ohio State scored 59.
I don't fault either program.
And if Oregon had reached 91 and those young Ducks got the ball back with a chance to reach 100?
