Jeff quietly dropped HIP-4 fee details a few days ago. Fee gap is kinda absurd. Same setup across venues: $100 taker position at 50¢, opened and closed at the same price. @HyperliquidX HIP-4: ~$0.07 round trip @trylimitless AMM: ~$0.80 @predictdotfun: ~$4.00 @trylimitless CLOB: ~$4.50 @Polymarket: ~$4–7 depending on category @Kalshi: ~$7.00 At base fee, HIP-4 comes out 11x cheaper than Limitless AMM and 57–100x cheaper than paid taker flow on major CLOBs. Why? Opening an outcome position costs nothing. A fee only applies when the position closes or settles in profit, which is also a plus for arbitrage traders since losing legs don’t pay a fee. Average cost works out to roughly 3.5 bps per leg. And deployers can now set their own fee scale and monetize on top. So 3.5 bps is protocol floor, not necessarily what every user will pay. HIP-4 deployers can set deployerFeeScale from 0 to 10 and charge their own fee on top of base. One builder can stay close to protocol floor to attract flow. Another can charge more for distribution, UX or access to specific markets. Prediction markets as backend sounds nice.
