Abraham had 2 main sons, Ishmael and Isaac. Through Ishmael him and his father built a house dedicated for worship which is the Kaaba. While through Isaacs lineage Solomon built his house of worship (Masjid al Aqsa/Solomons Temple) in Jerusalem which was the Israelites qibla at the time.
The Ishmaelites were known as traders so as centuries past they forgot about their own tradition from Ishmael and incorporated many idols from their trade journeys, as well as other traders coming into Makkah with their own idols. Some of the traditions that were practiced by Arab pagans goes back to Abraham and Ishmaels tradition, it's just the Arabs forgot the real reason why they were practicing it, that's why the Quran came as a reminder, to get them back into the authentic way.
And indeed, it is a remembrance for you and your people, and you [all] are going to be questioned.-Quran 43:44
Just like in the bible where the temple in Jerusalem became a place of idolatry for a while and Gods followers then cleansed it, the Kaaba also went through that phase, both mirroring each other.
Also the bible is supposed to be a history of the Israelites for the Israelites, so it wouldn't make sense for a detailed story of the Ishmaelites, it just gives basic information about Ishmael and his descendents. There was already a bias against Hagar and Ishmael due to Sarah, so would the Israelites actually care to hear the story of Ishmael in their own book?
