Bryson DeChambeau is the first reigning major champion to play in India in the last 6 decades, as the International Series will set a new record crowd for a professional golf event in the country.
Bryson said about the opportunity:
“It’s going to be so much fun. But it’s more than just golf, it’s about creating relationships. What’s wonderful about the game of golf is that you can create and develop relationships and inspire new fans all around the globe. That’s a really great thing.”
The DLF golf club offers a unique test, that has received mixed reviews from the players. But Bryson is relishing the challenge
“I love it. I think it is going to be a great test of strategic golf. There’s some really interesting shots, I’m not going to be able to hit many drivers. I’ll definitely need to think my way around and I’m excited for that test.”
It’s going to be a sell out crowd over the weekend, with more than 20,000 fans expected for the final two days. There is also over 500 already enrolled for a clinic with the US Open Champion tomorrow. These are incredible numbers for Indian golf, and the fans are really showing out.
When asked about his game after several months off from competition, Bryson said it feels “rusty”, but he’s feeling “really confident” with how his practice has gone so far. He also made it clear he is here to win:
“I wouldn’t show up otherwise.”
He then went off to work on his wedge play as the last man standing on the floodlit driving range.
26 years ago, I was made redundant and given a few grand. I decided that if I was careful, I could live off the money for 6 months trying to become a comedian before I had to get another job. I was 37. Worth a punt.
Win as a team, lose as a team. Very proud of each player and how we all fought to the very end today 🦁🇪🇺. Regardless of the result, a fantastic week with an amazing group of girls 💙
@SolheimCupEuro will be back and hungry for more #onwards
That's pretty confusing @TyrrellHatton playing @DPWorldTour now... thought he was a @livgolf_league player? What do the other players think of this who stuck to @DPWorldTour 🤔 seems it doesn't matter if you left but get best of both 🤷♂️ however works only one way #notfair
Jack Nicklaus says his Mount Rushmore of golf would be Bobby Jones, Ben Hogan, Tiger Woods and himself. I’d agree with that tbh. Who’s yours?

Paris & The Olympics 🇫🇷 Thank you for an unforgettable week 🤝 It was an absolute honour to represent Australia. Playing for more than just me was a special feeling. I hope to represent the Green & Gold in 2028 🇦🇺🦘🐨
Thank you to my team, especially Karrie Webb & J Day 💚💛
Shane Lowry wasn't a huge fan of setup today: "Have to question why there wasn't a couple of tees put forward today... I think 15 and 17 -- like 15 is 500 yards playing into that wind. Yeah, they keep trying to make holes longer, yet the best hole on this course is 100 yards."
Apologies for being negative, but it frustrates the hell outta me that most signature events don’t have a cut line.
They make Friday far more enjoyable. Exhibit A.
Earlier this week, Rory said he felt like “he deserves something” after his recent major heartbreak. He then shot rounds of 78 and 75 to be T125 and missing the cut by 5 shots. It’s tough at the top.
