@BillMelugin_ It seems like in systems today, rules, processes — we cut corners. We remove “barriers”. We “streamline” things to optimize it. But maybe optimization and barrier-removal leads to fraud and security breakdowns as a byproduct.

@LauraPowellEsq They are from XLS datasets of student-level SBIRT records released in public records requests. PRR first initiated by Seattle Times; released again to community members. Shockingly files contain substantial student PII and cannot be shared. Breach was reported to OSPI immediately

@bkheywood Because this program’s purpose is to establish “relationships” (their word) between students and adult staff over “stigmatizing” (their word) personal information of a child — it deserves scrutiny and vetting by the state, not yet received.

@bkheywood Referenced above, here’s a small sampling of real responses typed in by school kids who participated in this intervention program, as preserved in official records. Program is administered to all students in a grade (all 7th graders for example, or 6 and 7th, etc)

@bkheywood Many students administered this SBIRT assessment, that leads to 1-on-1 private room “sessions” wrote inside their records things like this real entry by a middle schooler. Kids tried to raise alarms like this + more documented inside their records but went ignored.

“Purpose of this agreement is to authorize the release of specified student PII (Personally Identifiable Information)”

Which, this DSA says in its appendix, includes the child’s “sexual attractions”
