"I've been doing this for 18-20 years across all the different leagues...this is one of the biggest messes I've ever seen"
-Sleep Dr. Pat Byrne on the Canucks 2026/27 schedule

Daily Driven Exotics posted a video on February 1, 2026 from a car meet in the Seattle area. Of course the car meet was at a Dicks Drive In and John Sun makes an appearance - with his wannabe looking grenade launcher and a pepper grenade.
He soaks in every moment on camera to brag and show off, while not realizing how this will look 6 months later…
Then wait for the surprise claims about what kind of business he runs - I thought it was just tactical gear/equipment and body armor?

If they reduce their salary by another $8m, they'll only be $1.2m above the cap floor.
They would be ~ $4m below the 2027-2028 cap floor.
This, combined with the fact they refuse to pay coaches and staff in player development is further evidence that the Aquilini's cannot afford to be NHL owners.
These are the Vancouver Canucks, Canada's 3rd most major hockey market, and they're spending money like the Arizona Coyotes.
It's embarrassing. Sell the team.
After playing replays this morning (including old Halford and Brough content), this is what played at 9am on Sportsnet 650 instead of The FAN Hockey Show.
Wanted to send my best to the co-workers affected by today's closures across the country, and not only in sports. I hate to see great teammates go.
Bet on yourselves. You have the talent and the ability.
these days suck. It’s a small circle to begin with and then the giant telecoms swing the axe. It’s always their solution. Feel for my friends and colleagues at 650.
just wanted to convey a heartfelt thank you to all the vancouver sports radio show hosts, play by play voices and analysts. your shows brought me a sense of community and an escape from the daily grind. let your talents find us on other platforms, i'll be the first to subscribe
Just an awful day in Canadian sports media with the shuttering of 650 & 960.
To the people who lost jobs- please understand that your work is appreciated and held up as a standard.
Both stations delivered elite programming that was cherished daily. Radio is a one-on-one experience for anyone who listens and when it vanishes, it's jarring. When a big tree falls there is no obvious replacement. To listeners I offer my best thoughts.
Also, I want to stress that there is life after working for one of the large corporations. I know this personally.
You are all too good to be out of work for any amount of time. Go read the praise about you here and believe it. You impacted people in a profound way. You made the sports experience better.
Sports is great, it makes people feel things they don't have a name for. And you were part of that and will be again.
Over the course of 9 years, we built a family at Sportsnet 650.
The hosts. The producers. Especially the listeners. There are too many people to thank.
It was a special thing, and I’m going to miss it a lot.
Halford and Brough were having a generational sports talk radio run at 650.
Sat is the most grounded Canucks analyst in this market. Bik was finding his voice.
Drance was starting to enter his botch era of writer/radio commentary.
Sportsnet 650 going off the air sucks.
