A protester was reportedly hit with hot liquid thrown by an Islamic Republic supporter.
This is what Iranian dissidents face for speaking out — intimidation, threats, and violence. Even here.
The Islamic Republic’s FIFA team arrived in Seattle.
The Iranian community showed up to protest — including people whose families were murdered, imprisoned, tortured, or forced into exile by the regime.
This is not just a soccer team. It is a regime propaganda vehicle.
Seattle stands with the Iranian people — not the Islamic Republic.

Early 2024, Redmond.
Our hostage rally came under attack from a hostile anti-Israel agitator, later identified as Tarif Mohaisen of Redmond, WA. https://t.co/pLUn5Lqp6s
We routinely faced: harassment, intimidation, and antisemitic hostility for standing publicly with the hostages.
We did not stop.

EXCLUSIVE: Who is this antisemite? Seattle's Jewish community is asking neighbors to be on the lookout for this man, who disrupted an event focused on bringing attention to hostages kidnapped by Hamas.
This happened over the weekend in downtown Redmond where witnesses say he started cursing in the direction of bystanders and children, totally unprovoked. Make him famous.

Jew-hatred graffiti was posted online.
We found it in Cap Hill. We cleaned it up.
Seattle does not need more hate on its streets. It needs people willing to show up and take action.

On Dec. 3, 2023, we organized our first flag walk across the I-90 bridge, dedicated to the hostages held by Hamas.
Israeli and American flags stretched across the bridge walkway, making the hostages visible to thousands of passing drivers.
Some passersby cyclists shouted antisemitic comments. Most of the response was supportive.

On Nov. 17, 2023, Run for Their Lives Seattle rallied outside Redmond City Hall calling for the release of hostages held by Hamas.
The rally followed outrage after Redmond Mayor Angela Birney’s daughter, Rachel Birney, was filmed ripping off hostage posters at USC. At the time of the rally, there had been no immediate public comment from the mayor’s office.
Hostage posters of kidnapped children were placed on strollers in front of the building — a visual reminder that children were among those taken on October 7.

USC woman filmed ripping down poster after poster of kidnapped Israelis has been identified as Rachel Birney.
Birney is currently in the PhD program at the School of Natural Science & Mathematics and is also a Physics TA.
After her release, Dafna Elyakim spoke publicly about sexual abuse in Hamas captivity.
She said one terrorist “would touch me all the time” and insisted on accompanying her to the shower.
This is why hostage posters mattered — and still matter.
Public memory matters.
One of the first hostage posters we put up in Seattle was for Dafna Elyakim in Wallingford.
Dafna was 15 when Hamas kidnapped her from Kibbutz Nahal Oz on October 7, along with her 8-year-old sister, Ela.
