📣📰 Earlier this week, Administrator Mike McCoshen was proud to host a site visit of Massena operations for @USDOT & @TheSLSMC colleagues as well as Seaway stakeholders. The visit included a tour of Vessel Traffic Control and the Seaway Visitor Center at Eisenhower Lock.

During the visit, Administrator McCoshen highlighted the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway System’s economic impact on the North Country region and the GLS’s continued commitment to investing in the region by driving economic growth and supporting quality jobs📈🤝👷‍♀️

$25M from USDOT's BUILD program will help power a $32M expansion at our Jeffersonville port and the numbers are big:

🏗️ 300-ton crane (up from 35 tons - that's an 800%+ jump)
🚢 New pile-supported dock on the Ohio River
📦 22,000-sq-ft warehouse & operations facility
🚛 2x barge-rail transloading capacity

This isn't just an upgrade; it's a transformation. More capacity for steel and project cargo. Lower shipping costs for regional industry. And a stronger position for Jeffersonville as one of the Midwest's premier multimodal freight hubs.
