Romania strongly condemns the recent Houthi attacks targeting civilian areas in Saudi Arabia, which injured 73 people, including women and children. Our thoughts are with those affected and their families. Romania reaffirms its unwavering support for Saudi Arabia in these difficult times.

Strikes against people, oil facilities and commercial vessels in the Red Sea are unacceptable.

We call for the immediate cessation of the attacks and keeping the Red Sea open, safe and free for international navigation, in full respect of international law. @FaisalbinFarhan

Statement by Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Oana Țoiu regarding the recent attacks against commercial vessels transiting the Red Sea:

"We condemn in the strongest terms the attacks carried out by Yemen’s Houthis against commercial vessels transiting the Red Sea. Such attacks endanger civilian lives, undermine maritime security, and constitute an unacceptable threat to freedom of navigation and international trade.

We stand in full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and all those affected and reaffirm our unwavering commitment to upholding international law and ensuring the security of global maritime routes.

We call for the immediate cessation of attacks and a return to dialogue and diplomacy to preserve maritime security and keep the Red Sea open, safe and free for international navigation”.

Am evidențiat importanța continuării coordonării și a schimburilor de informații între țările și regiunile noastre. România rămâne angajată într-un dialog strâns cu partenerii săi din Orientul Mijlociu.
