There should be a framework for fixing perverse incentives. A buying agent working on my behalf shouldn't get more money the more I pay, they should get more the less I pay. How is this not the norm? Fixing this could help correct the housing market (and others) over time
@anuatluru Totally agree. For a few months I've been using this mantra with my kids too. They need to create something (anything) to earn screen time (consume). Be it a drawing, journal, practice an instrument, homework - whatever. They must create something/anything if they wanna consume
actually built based on all the small decisions along the way
- there is no greater purpose than bringing joy to someone else. Fold that into what you do everyday and you won't work a day in your life
I'm getting soft in my old age, but this movie never fails to get me choked up
Klaus is not only hands down the best Christmas movie, it has great lessons for entrepreneurs.
- incentives drive behaviours
- pivot or you'll be stuck in a wasteland
- original vision may take you most of the way, but you need to eventually step back to see what you've -cont 1/2
Btw, I understand if the rich are highly leveraged and calls come in sure they may be impacted, but most are only impacted on their paper net worth reducing temporarily, while low income families pay the actual price to combat inflation
What am I missing? To combat inflation, central banks raise interest rates to quell spending. This however has the effect of the rich reducing investment (in theory, but in reality lets them pick up distressed assets at a bargain), the middle class reduce spending ✅, and..(pt1)
low income families are forced into horrible decisions about missing meals or many forced into homelessness. The strategy disproportionately affects lower income people most, and the rich barely. How is this still the only way we manage inflation? Surely there is a better way?

Slack & Miro join the AI bandwagon to boost user efficiency in their products. Is AI table stakes now? Probably. But the next big products will be using AI as the secret sauce, not as a solution looking for a problem
Innovative solutions stem from not from creativity, but from understanding the problem.
Want to know if a creative is going to give you a good solution - how many questions have they asked? How deep is their understanding of your business?
We are definitely at an important turning point in technology.... whether we like it or not. Things are only gonna go faster from here. We'll all either be living until 200 or we'll have destroyed civilisation in the next generations lifetime. Exciting 🤣

@awilkinson@myfirstmilpod@thesamparr@ShaanVP What are the best and worst terms you've all seen in ESOPs from a founders perspective. How should a founder think about this, not just from what % to allocate, but the terms. How do you think about this with acquired companies for Tiny?

@oliebol What I think Atlassian has done is proven Aussies can make a VC scale product, and not necessarily by being 100% based in USA. Prob not the best example of longevity and consistently being loved by users. But are there many good examples of that at scale? I can't think of many
