@AmazonMGMStudio I bet you are gonna hate this… I gave my #SaveStargate letter to my father to edit. I asked him to remove something related to LoTR because it’s not really my thing, I didn’t know how bad you messed it up. I was explaining to my parents who are in their 70’s how you botched Rings of Power, Mom said “Oh, I was gonna watch that.” You know what she has been watching since that conversation… #Stargate…
You know what's frustrating is seeing people who were never #Stargate fans/have never seen Stargate mocking actual fans for getting their hopes up, saying "You should have known better"... Excuse me but you don't know wtf you're talking about Jan.
Here are the facts:
1. The shows' original creators were determined to make a series that continued the SG legacy that could welcome in new fans while also keeping with the continuity of the Lore.
2. Amazon execs wanted woke slop like Rings of Power, and the original said NO.
3. Like spoiled children, the Amazon executives canceled a show that had already been APPROVED AND WAS IN PRODUCTION.
So to all the fake geek girls out there that are only chiming in because it's trending, mocking the fans for this. Take a minute & do a shred of research before chiming in on a situation you know nothing about.
This is 100% @amazon@AmazonMGMStudio fault & @JeffBezos should rectify it period.

Stargate Offworld (32K French Gaters on Facebook and 22K on Tiktok),
To the leadership of Amazon MGM Studios @AmazonMGMStudio ,
On June 2, 2026, you made a decision that was both painful and brutal: to cancel Martin Gero’s Stargate series outright. But what you shut down that day was also the hope of thousands of fans who had been waiting to finally see a new Stargate series, one that would continue the stories of the previous shows.
And yet, this project was not in its infancy. It had been commissioned, written, and prepared. Two years of work. Twenty weeks in the writers’ room. Pre-production already underway, with filming planned in the United Kingdom. All of it had been approved by you, Amazon MGM Studios. In a way, when you announced it, you made a commitment to the fans to deliver this new Stargate series.
But that commitment was not only made to the fans. It was also made to Martin Gero and his entire team, a team that knows this franchise, because it includes producers and writers from Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and Stargate Universe.
The reason reportedly given for this cancellation was the fear that the series would appeal only to longtime fans, and that its audience would be too narrow. The creators themselves have challenged that idea. But beyond the numbers, there is something we want you to hear: a community should not be treated as an adjustment variable. A community deserves respect.
The Stargate community has been waiting for a continuation for more than 15 years. Imagine, for a moment, the emotional rollercoaster it has just been through. That is not fair to the fans. Many of us discovered science fiction through this Gate, and some of us have since passed that passion on to our own children. Turning your back on this audience is a mistake. Refusing even to listen to it would be a greater one.
But nothing is final.
In 2018, the cancellation of The Expanse sparked a worldwide fan movement, with close to 140,000 signatures and even a banner flown over your offices. That community, you chose to listen to. Jeff Bezos personally stepped in to save the series. What followed? Three more seasons, acclaimed by critics.
So why not listen again?
The decision lies with you, and you alone. Stargate belongs to you. No one else can carry this torch in your place. Everything now rests on your choice: a responsibility, certainly, but also an opportunity.
What do Stargate fans want?
We want Martin Gero and his team back, with their project. The work is already well advanced. All that remains is to restart the machine and follow the development plan that had already been laid out.
We do not want a reboot. We want the continuation of the adventures begun by Jack O’Neill, Daniel Jackson, Samantha Carter, and Teal’c, then carried on by John Sheppard’s team, and finally by the crew of the Destiny under Colonel Young. That is what Stargate is: memorable characters, humor, brotherhood, action, adventure, and the discovery of new worlds. It is not just a gate to adventure. It is a gate open to dreams.
Stargate fans, along with the new fans who will join this great family, deserve to dream through this wonderful franchise once again.
The Stargate community is strong. It lives on every continent. It is active on social media. And it will be there for the future of the franchise.
You have the symbols to dial in order to open this gate.
We are waiting for you.
Save Stargate.

The first episode of SG1 I watched was Holiday (that’s 217 if you want to watch) @MichaelShanks Played his title Character and Ma’chello. His acting range is quite broad and the best evidence of that is Lifeboat (706 I highly recommend this episode). He is not replaceable… @AmazonMGMStudio There was a successful campaign to bring him back! Still trying to figure out what you are thinking #SaveStarGate
@AmazonMGMStudio 15 years… maybe a few stopped the pressure, but they weren’t holding the entire fandom hostage. Now you have insulted us and are threatening to retcon the entire fandom. Quite frankly we don’t trust you! In @martingero we trust.
Like at First you hate him, then really hate him, then you go back to hate, then really hate again, then well okay… He’s not that bad of guy, he just has the wrong priorities ie Himself!! #SaveStargate
Ask your friends to sign and Share!! I swear you will find fans among them! The girls that were nice to me in High School, would never have thought they were #Stargate Fans, haha joke was on me. Whole family of 6 were fans plus extended cousins!! We even had a watch party at their house!!
Never ever, ever insult fans!! Especially my mom! She will get out of her chair and tell you to your face what she thinks. You think I am upset… I asked her what if someone said the fanbase of #TWD didn’t matter. She said “You know how mad I get when the power would always go out on Premier day? Much much worse.” How does it feel to have us in your face? @AmazonMGMStudio #SaveStarGate
The cancellation of the #Stargate revival by @AmazonMGMStudio is peak out-of-touch executive logic.
Former Netflix execs like Peter Friedlander and Blair Fetter killed a fully developed, franchise-respecting show because they claimed it lacked "broad appeal." They are chasing the mythical "Four-Quadrant" hit at the expense of a guaranteed audience.
For those outside the entertainment industry, the "Four Quadrants" are the major demographic groups studios use to project an audience:
1️⃣ Males
2️⃣ Females
3️⃣ Under 25 years old
4️⃣ Over 25 years old
A true four-quadrant show appeals to everyone. Modern executives are obsessed with finding these massive, algorithm-driven megahits right out of the gate. If a show doesn't project to hit all four quadrants on day one, they scrap it to chase a wider demographic.
The irony? Stargate is one of the rare legacy IPs that already built a four-quadrant audience organically. This isn't just a 14-year TV run; this franchise started with the original movie in 1994. That is over three decades of deep, multi-generational history.
It isn't just a niche, hard sci-fi show. It has grounded military action and deep mythology, but it survived on the character-driven, "found family" dynamics that appeal to every gender. It has the dedicated legacy fans who watched it in theaters and live on TV (the Over 25s), and a massive streaming generation that binged the entire franchise online (the Under 25s).
You don't buy a legacy IP just to throw it away because it doesn't fit a new spreadsheet metric. It's time to stop ignoring the massive audience standing right in front of you.

@thatstarwarsgrl Yh this isnt like the Buffy reboot trainwreck that was written by amateur Trumblr fanfic femtards without Joss W.
Martin Gero was heading it up and bringing some of the old cast and writers back. It would have actually been GOOD.
It's even worse than you make it sound. When they announced the project in November of last year, the creators were adamant that they were picked because they wanted to avoid the past Amazon mistakes of alienating the fans. It was easy to get excited because it seemed like they were course correcting. That's what makes this sting so much more.
