@DrunkLiS @Al__Samil True. But death and the lord of death are not one and the same. Hades rules the underworld. The Greeks also had personifications for many kinds of Death. There are also sects of syncretism between Hades and Zeus (who parallels John more strongly IMO).

@Al__Samil To my knowledge most of the Celtic gods had a physical form with three heads; the morrígan is actually a trio of sisters instead of a single goddess; Greek Hecate as lunar deity had three faces corresponding to waxing, full, waning. Etc.

@korrasatx I think it’s definitely a big parallel between Gideon & Harrow and Alecto & John! Harrow is the literal ruler of the underworld when we meet her, with Dreadburh described as a pit in the earth, very much like the Greek entrances to Hades. And Gideon is the flower of her house!
